Report: Kroger Shooter Initially Had Different Target In Mind :: 10/29/2018
According to a new report from NPR, law enforcement is now investigating the Kroger shooting as a hate crime. NPR reported on a statement from Russell Coleman, the U.S. attorney for the Western district of Kentucky. Coleman stated the murders are being looked at as “civil rights violations such as hate crimes,” according to NPR.
Scoring cheap political points actually costs more than you and I can afford :: 10/29/2018
Trying to score cheap political points seems attractive, because it looks cheap and low-cost. A lot of it has been going on lately, but it actually has a huge cost. It has a huge cost to everyone else as collateral damage victims, and in a just world it should have a boomerang cost on its progenitors.
SHOCKING: Gun Confiscation Hasn't Helped D.C. Crime Rate :: 10/29/2018
Gun control advocates routinely argue that gun control laws will reduce crime, that they take guns out of the hands of criminals. Gun rights advocates typically counter with plenty of examples of places with sky-high crime and lots of gun laws. This tends to not go over well with people who get their knowledge of firearms policy from MSNBC.
Washington Post Advice Columnist Gets It Right On Irrational Fear Of School Shootings :: 10/29/2018
These days the cynical adage “if it bleeds, it leads” seems as applicable to the news media as ever. This is all the more reason that Washington Post advice columnist Carolyn Hax should be applauded for a recent piece where she sought to quell her readers’ out-sized fears about school shootings. Titled, “Apply the empirical method to your school-shooting anxieties,” Hax urged her readers to take a moment to look at the facts about school shootings before succumbing to fear.
Pittsburgh synagogue sought active-shooter training from feds: official :: 10/28/2018
The Pittsburgh synagogue where 11 worshipers were gunned down sought a government “security expert” earlier this year to gauge its vulnerability to attack — including an “active shooter” scenario, a federal official told The Post.
It's time for more parishioners to lock and load when they go to church :: 10/27/2018
There are simply too many targets for police to be able to guard everyone. And even when they are in the right place at the right time, an officer’s uniform is like a neon sign saying, “Shoot me first.”
Once Again, Celebrities Call For Increased Gun Control :: 10/27/2018
For all the billions Hollywood has made due to their use of firearms in film, it seems the town doesn’t really have any loyalty toward the gun. Of course, that might not be especially fair in some regards. After all, a lot of the people behind these movies tend to remain somewhat quiet on the topic of the Second Amendment. It’s really just a handful of hypocritical actors and other “creatives” who use guns in movies then seek to deny them for the rest of us that are the problem.
Pittsburgh Tree of Life Synagogue Shooting apparently took place in another gun-free zone :: 10/27/2018
UPDATED: With eleven dead and five others wounded by gunfire, the question about this incredibly horrible tragedy is: why someplace such as a Synagogue doesn’t allow parishioners to carry permitted concealed handguns? Apparently, during high holidays, the Synagogue has security present, but why not allow people to be protected quickly during the rest of the year.
U.S. Gun-Control Groups Outspending Pro-Gun Forces on Election :: 10/27/2018
NEW YORK (Reuters) - U.S. gun-control advocates have outspent by more than 40 percent gun-rights groups on next month's congressional elections, reversing the National Rifle Association's longstanding dominance in spending on gun politics.
American: The Identity Group for the Rest of Us :: 10/26/2018
There’s prattle in the news about the President’s claim that he’s a nationalist, as if that word means to Donald Trump what it means to the hand-wringing academics and left-wing pundits who wait breathlessly for evidence that he’s the fascist monster they need him to be.
CPRC: Racist Mass Public Shooting at Louisville (KY) Kroger stopped by concealed handgun permit holder :: 10/26/2018
The national media has picked up on this story because the killer, George Bush, is racist. But they are ignoring the fact that a white civilian with a concealed handgun permit stopped the attack. Both the people murdered at the Koger — Maurice Stallard, 69, and Vickie Jones, 67 — were black. Bush had apparently tried to carry out an attack at a black church before choosing to shoot up the Kroger. Apparently he was trying to kill as many blacks as possible, and many more could have been killed if not for the concealed handgun permit holder. When confronted by the concealed handgun permit holder, Bush is said to have told the permit holder: “Don’t shoot me. I won’t shoot you. Whites don’t shoot whites.” Immediately after exchanging shots with the permit holder, Bush left the grocery store parking lot.
Kroger Shooting Turns Out As Another Gun Control Failure :: 10/26/2018
A shooting earlier this week at a Kroger in Kentucky undoubtedly spurred many gun control advocates to talk about the need for more “common sense gun reforms” to try and stop horrific events like that from happening. You can bet that if there’s a public shooting, someone is going to use it to justify gun control immediately afterward.
Problems With FBI Data On Mass Shootings Reveals Ideological Motives :: 10/26/2018
The FBI has been under a great deal of fire over recent years as many on the right feel the organization has developed a pronounced leftward lean. Examples of that include the FBI not prosecuting a certain presidential candidate for an unsecured email server in their home, as well as investigations into the other presidential candidate’s supposed links with Russia…that never showed up.
Media Outlets Say Voting for What We Want is Selfish :: 10/25/2018
The national news media denigrate you. Anti-freedom, social-engineering billionaires would expunge you from their utopian society. Democratic socialists determined to seize control of the U.S. Congress would, if given the chance, destroy your Second Amendment freedom.
Students Bill Of Rights Illustrates They Need To Study Rights More :: 10/25/2018
One thing Parkland did was mobilize the youth of this country far more than anything else in recent memory. High school students, normally pretty docile if not oblivious to the world around them, embraced gun control as a cause and started flapping their gums on a topic they knew nothing about.
Voting Blocs and the Future of the Second Amendment :: 10/25/2018
Fayetteville, AR –-(Ammoland.com)- I’m told that a blue wave is coming, if not in full force this November, then in the not too distant future. While the House of Representatives is likely to flip this year, the Senate probably won’t, and governorships are headed toward a something like a fifty-fifty split, leaving us in something close to the present status quo. But the demographic trend is toward a nation in which no one ethnic or racial group is in the majority, and many on the left assume that this will mean increasing losses to the Republican Party.
What The Trace Leaves Out On Coverage Of Kids Being Shot :: 10/25/2018
One thing I do like about The Trace is that unlike some media organizations out there, it wears its biases on its sleeves. It doesn’t pretend to be an unbiased news outlet in the hopes that you’ll mistake its opinions as facts. These days, too many outlets do just that, and it’s annoying. The Trace at least admits in its mission statement that its an anti-gun media organization, so you at least know where it’s coming from.
What Will Happen If The Blue Wave Doesn't Come? :: 10/25/2018
For some time, the left has been predicting a “blue wave” come November. While some experts are trying to walk back those predictions now, it doesn’t change the fact that many street-level “activists” have it in their head that their side is going to win, impeach President Trump, and bring about a new age of peace, love, and totalitarianism.
50 Years of Federal Gun Control: The 1968 Gun Control Act :: 10/24/2018
Today marks the 50th anniversary of the passage of the Gun Control Act of 1968. The GCA is the main federal law that governs interstate commerce of firearms in the United States. Specifically, the GCA prohibits firearms commerce across state lines except between licensed manufactures, dealers, and importers. Under the GCA, any individual or company that wants to partake in commercial activity dealing with the manufacture or importation of firearms and ammunition, or the interstate and intrastate sale of firearms must possess a Federal Firearms License (FFL).
Gun control, once a third rail, now a key issue as Democrats seek to control House :: 10/24/2018
Two years ago, when Democrat Chrissy Houlahan began running for Congress, people told the military veteran and former high school teacher to stay away from one topic:
