Gun Groups Seek Preliminary Injunction In California Case :: 08/18/2018

BELLEVUE, WA – -(AmmoLand.com)- Attorneys for the Second Amendment Foundation and three other advocacy groups have filed an amended complaint against California Attorney General Xavier Becerra, seeking a preliminary injunction to prevent enforcement of a new law restricting possession of so-called “bullet button assault weapons” because of a problem with the registration system during the week prior to the deadline.

Ninth Circuit Panel Rules CA Unsafe Handgun Act not Covered by Second Amendment :: 08/10/2018

A three judge panel in the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals has ruled the restrictions of the California Unsafe Handgun Act (UHA) do not violate the Second Amendment.  In circular reasoning, the opinion posits the UHA restrictions do not restrict behavior protected by the Second Amendment. They then apply the least restrictive Constitutional test to determine if the behavior is protected. Unsurprisingly, they find that it is not.

Brady sues Cabela's over sale of black powder gun to felon later used in murder :: 08/09/2018

The national gun control group is backing a lawsuit against the big box retailer over the sale of a replica muzzleloader to a felon who later used it to kill an Ohio man. The Brady Campaign, representing the family of slain 21-year-old Bryan Galliher, filed the action against Cabela’s in the Common Pleas Court of Wayne County on Tuesday.

The microstamping mandate, part of California’s Unsafe Handgun Act contested before a three-judge panel of the U.S. 9th Circuit Court of Appeals last March, was upheld by the court in a 2-1 decision in the case of Pena v. Lindley.
