Gun Violence Studies Biased, Used to Force Agenda :: 04/02/2018

It’s Simple: Science” (an op-ed in Politico). The reality is different, and it illustrates two contending views of how America should be governed.

Irrational Fear of Mass Shootings Can't Justify Unconstitutional Gun Control :: 04/02/2018

Americans are now more likely to be shot to death than to die in a car accident," Margaret Renkl declares in a New York Times op-ed piece calling for more gun control. Since Renkl is talking about mass shootings, which she says "are no longer so unthinkable," the implication is that the risk of being murdered with a gun is on the rise. But that risk is in fact much lower than it was in the 1970s, '80s, or '90s.

Yes, They Are Coming for Your Guns :: 04/02/2018

The anti-gun movement has held out the falsehood that they are not coming after people’s guns as a central core of their effort to hide their existential goal.  The lid was blown off that charade when a 97-year-old man who previously occupied a position at the top level of our country (retired Supreme Court Justice John Paul Stevens) advocated for the abolition of the Second Amendment to the U.S. Constitution in the paper of record – The New York Times.

A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to Gun Control :: 03/31/2018

The Socialists and their donors decided to push gun control and firearms confiscation. That didn’t turn out quite the way they planned. Our culture is changing faster than our politics and our politicians can follow. Public perception is changing more rapidly than polls can record opinions and faster than the media can spin their agenda.

I am on the political left. I hate the National Rifle Association. I do not own a gun. I have been a victim of firearms violence. (Shot breaking up a bar fight at the age of 20.) And I am strident supporter of keeping “assault” weapons available and leaving the Second Amendment exactly as it is.
