A Suspiciously Selective, Logically Shaky Analysis of Mass Shooting Data Claims the Federal Assault Weapon Ban Really Did Work :: 09/22/2019
Stanford law professor John Donohue claims to have discovered evidence that the 1994 federal ban on so-called assault weapons "really did work," because mass shootings and the deaths caused by them declined while the law was in effect, then rose afterward. But the methodology Donohue used is suspiciously selective, and his results do not show what he thinks they do.

Media Happily Lends Republicans Its Megaphone to Sell Out Gun Owners :: 09/22/2019
U.S.A. – -(Ammoland.com)- “A red flag law will reduce bloodshed and respect the rights of gun owners,” Florida “Republican” Senator Marco Rubio disingenuously promises in a Thursday promo piece for universal harassment of the “law-abiding,” happily hosted by The New York Times.
Red Flag Laws Are Not Needed To Combat Suicide :: 09/22/2019
I’ve been making it something of a point to highlight stories where potential mass shooters are stopped without the use of red flag laws. While I get the allure of them, the truth is that we already have all the laws we need to combat mass shootings. We don’t need a red flag law in order to thwart the next Parkland killer. We just need people to step up and do what’s right.
ATF Admits It Lacked Regulatory Authority to Ban Bump Stocks :: 09/21/2019
You know that bump stock ban that the Trump administration imposed upon Americans? As I’ve written before, I suspect the President knew the regulatory reclassification of these obscure accessories lacked enforceability in court. And now, sure enough, the ATF has admitted in court filings that it lacked the authority to ban bump stocks in the way it did.
Here Are the Problems With the Attorney General's Plan To Expand Background Checks for Gun Buyers :: 09/21/2019
Attorney General William Barr is reportedly floating a proposal to expand background checks for gun buyers that is similar to an unsuccessful 2013 bill sponsored by Sens. Joe Manchin (D–W.Va.) and Patrick Toomey (R–Pa.). The proposal would require background checks for "all advertised commercial sales, including gun sales at gun shows."

The 2nd Amendment is a reminder to government of a right we inherently have :: 09/21/2019
The national socialist left incessantly demands gun confiscation, all the more reason not to ‘go forward’ with its precursors. Sometimes it’s easy to knock a lie from the left out of the park. This is certainly one of those times. As reported by the Times Union, everyone’s favorite Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) recently stated:
Too Many Policy Makers Undermine Civil Order :: 09/21/2019
Far too many local and national policy makers (i.e. politicians) have gone crazy in their efforts to undermine civil order in our country. As a result, they are undermining personal security; and it’s all in the shameful pursuit of power.

House Freedom Caucus Opposes Trump Over Background Checks :: 09/20/2019
While we aren’t likely to see any proposals on gun control coming down from the White House this week, not after yesterday’s revelations, we do know that President Donald Trump has expressed some desire to expand background checks. That may or may not have anything to do with ranking Democrats arguing that they won’t consider any plan without universal background checks somewhere in the mix.

Self Preservation: Homeowner Defends Himself Against Trio of Armed Robbers Using 'Assault Weapon' :: 09/20/2019
Anti-gun activists and politicians often ask questions like, "who needs these 'weapons of war'?" As if demonstrable "need" is somehow a prerequisite to exercising a constitutional right, and as if the latter term actually means something concrete. The concept of a "good guy with a gun" is also mocked and diminished after mass shootings in which armed citizens did not intervene, anecdotal evidence that ignores the many instances in which law-abiding gun owners do, in fact, defend themselves and others. Here's the latest example of a Georgia homeowner evidently 'needing' a so-called "assault weapon" to stave off a violent armed robbery by three masked assailants:
Violate Your Oath And Turn On American Citizens At Your Legal Peril, Gun-Grabbers :: 09/20/2019
There has been a lot of talk about whether our law enforcement (and our military) would follow the orders of those like that furry fascist Beto to unleash a reign of terror upon innocent American citizens who the liberal elite’s unconstitutional gun decrees would turn into felons. Most of our heroic cops and warriors would hold true to their oaths to support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic. But some pathetic worms would willingly, even eagerly betray their oaths and make war upon their own people. They need to know there will be consequences.
Carson, CA Mayor's Anti-Gun Plan Blocked By Gun Rights Activists :: 09/19/2019
Carson, California isn’t a big place, but it’s located right smack dab in the middle of the most liberal part of California. As such, their mayor’s recent plan to essentially ban guns in the city sure could look like a slam dunk for those of us not there. At least, it would be a slam dunk until the courts got involved, at which point it was likely to be smacked down and smacked down hard.

Trump's Terrible, Horrible, No-Good, Very Bad Background Check Idea :: 09/19/2019
Yesterday, a purported “idea” document reportedly being circulated among Republican senators and congressmen was leaked to the media. The document, entitled “Idea for New Unlicensed-Commercial-Sale Background Checks”, is both frighteningly vague and callous in its disregard for the Second and Fourth Amendments, as well as the federalist principles that animate the Commerce Clause.
