A man accused of robbing a 7-Eleven at gunpoint is recovering from gunshot wounds after police said a female victim shot him during the attack.
Officers with the Winchester Police Department responded to the gas station at 1851 S. Pleasant Valley Road around 11:39 p.m. for reports of a robbery and shots fired.
According to police, Kahlil Kirton, 33, of Winchester entered the store, displayed a gun and demanded money.
Police said Kirton then forced the victim outside at gunpoint, but she was able to retrieve her personal gun to defend herself.
Kirton was shot several times. He is being treated at the Winchester Medical Center.
Police charged Kirton with armed robbery, abduction, use of firearm in the commission of a felony and wearing a mask in public.
