A woman shot her boyfriend in what she says was self defense on Friday night, according to a release from the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office.
The man, she told the sheriff's office, was holding her against her will. She struggled with him and managed to get the gun away from him and shoot him. She locked herself in the garage and called 9-1-1, authorities said.
She told law enforcement officers that the house was rigged with explosives, according to the release. The Montgomery County Fire Marshal's office did not find any explosives.
The man, 40, was died at the scene.
