Sikkila came to a man's home on Sam Langley Road in Travelers Rest and started a confrontation around 4:30 p.m. Monday, according to a statement from the Greenville County Sheriff's Office. The homeowner demanded that Sikkila leave but Sikkila refused and started to attack the man while the man was sitting in a vehicle, according to the Sheriff's Office.

The man then acted in self-defense and shot Sikkila at least one time, according to the Sheriff's Office.

Sikkila left the scene and was located later on Pine Log Ford Road. He was taken to a hospital for non-life-threatening injuries. He has since been transported to the Greenville County jail, according to online jail records

Investigators determined that Sikkila and the other man are acquaintances.
