EVANS CITY, Pa. — The police chief confirmed a homeowner who was being held at gunpoint shot an intruder inside a home in Evans City, Butler County, on Saturday night.
The incident happened a little before 7 p.m. Saturday at a home on West Main Street.
The police chief confirmed the suspect, who had a gun, forced his way into the home where the homeowner was inside with a woman.
The homeowner got his own gun and shot the intruder, who was taken to a Pittsburgh-area hospital by medical helicopter.
The condition of the intruder has not been released.
No charges have been announced in the case though the police chief said the homeowner has been cooperating with the investigation.
