A Yukon resident shot and killed her ex-boyfriend during a home invasion.
At approximately 4:06 a.m. on Sunday morning, the Yukon Police Department received a 911 call from a female resident regarding the shooting of her ex-boyfriend.
Police said the two had been broken up for about a week and there was no known history of violence between the two. Police believe a heated phone call is what caused the suspect, 23-year-old Boyd Jones to drive to the woman's home.
After investigating, officials learned that the ex-boyfriend had broken into the home and confronted the female resident. According to authorities, Jones attacked the woman twice and during the second attack, she used a handgun to shoot Jones in the stomach.
She called 911 and applied pressure to the wound. Jones was taken to the hospital where he died.
The shooting is still under investigation. At this time, no arrests have been made and it is not clear if the woman would even face any charges.
