North Carolina Self-Defense: OOPS: Armed Robber Shot And Killed By His Victims In NC :: 04/05/2016

If at first you don’t succeed, maybe parachuting and armed robbery are things you should not pursue.

Winston-Salem police said they responded to the 4800 block of Westmoreland Drive at about 7:12 a.m. Saturday in reference to a reported shooting.

Arriving officers found a man suffering gunshot wound. Police said emergency workers took that man to Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center where he died.

The Winston-Salem Police Department described the incident in the following way in a prepared statement:

The preliminary investigation indicates that the male suspect was armed and approached the victims in attempt to commit a robbery. The victims were also armed during this encounter. During this encounter several shots were fired and the suspect was shot. No other persons were found to have been injured.

The suspect was identified as Jonathan Kyron Williams.

It does not appear that the victims will face charges, but the investigation is still on-going at this time.
