RENO, Nev. (AP) — Police say investigators have determined that a deadly shooting at a Reno apartment complex was justified.
Reno police say a resident shot 35-year-old Christopher Jimenez in self-defense Monday.
Jimenez was transported to a hospital where he later died. Police did not identify the shooter.
Police say Jimenez was in an "apparent altered state of consciousness" when he attacked a resident sitting outside an apartment. He then lunged at another resident who tried to intervene.
Police say the resident with a valid concealment permit fired once at Jimenez after backing away and repeatedly telling him to stop.
Investigators said both residents remained at the scene.
