LAS VEGAS - Metro Police are searching for a pair of men who tried to rob a convenience store, but were confronted by an armed clerk behind the counter.
Investigator say two men wearing masks stormed the Star Mart at 400 N. Eastern, near U.S. 95, just after 1 a.m. and demanded cash.
Metro Lt. David Gordon said the store's clerk pulled out a gun he was legally carrying on his waist, and opened fire. The clerk and the would-be robbers exchanged approximately six shots. The clerk was not injured and police do not believe either suspect was hit.
Some of the windows of the Star Mart were broken during the exchange of gunfire.
Both suspects ran from the store in different directions. Police did not immediately release a description of the men involved.
