NORRISTOWN, Pa. - The mother of a trooper who was accidentally shot and killed by a firearms instructor has filed a wrongful death lawsuit.
David Kedra's mother is seeking compensatory damages from Richard Schroeter. The lawsuit claims that Schroeter recklessly ignored firearm safety rules during a weapons demonstration last September.
The 26-year-old Kedra died after he was accidentally shot in the stomach. Schroeter pleaded guilty to five counts of reckless endangerment. In August, he was sentenced to two weeks behind bars and 18 months of house arrest.
