It must have been a terrifying night for a Baton Rouge, LA homeowner who awoke to a man in his bedroom armed with a gun.
According to NOLA.com,
The resident on the 3000 block of Greenwell Street was asleep at about 11:20 a.m. Monday when he woke up, hearing someone breaking into his house. A man armed with a gun then came into the room, and shot the resident in the leg, Baton Rouge police spokesman Cpl. Don Coppola said.
The resident also had a gun and returned fire, Coppola said. It's not clear whether or not the suspect was hit by the gunfire, but he fled at that point.
It's currently unclear if the suspect was struck by the homeowner's gunfire. We also don't have any information about the type of firearm used or the number of rounds fired.
Even if he missed, it seems that the presence of firearm and return fire was enough to end this encounter. Also, you can't really fault someone's marksmanship after they've already been shot.
The homeowner's injuries are said to be non-life threatening and they are being treated at an area hospital.
