LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18)-- An attempted robbery ended in a shoot out Wednesday night.
Police say around 11 p.m. a woman on the street flagged an elderly man down and asked him for a ride. She directed him to Hawkins Avenue, where two men with guns walked up and pointed guns at him.
The woman jumped out of the car and the man tried to drive off, but police say the men fired at his car.
The man proceeded to take out a gun and returned fire in self defense until the three ran off.
The man's car and a house were both hit, but no one was hurt.
At this time, no arrests have been made.
The victim was charged with loitering for prositution purposes.
