SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - Officers from the Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police Department responded to a report of a shooting in the 100 block of Fairmont Avenue shortly after 8:30 a.m. on Sunday morning.
Officers responded to the call of a person with a gun. They found Ahjae Williams, 22, suffering from critical injuries at the scene.
Reports say Williams, armed with a gun, entered the home of his ex-girlfriend. Williams and another person at the scene got into a confrontation and gunfire was exchanged.
Officials say all who were involved in the incident remained on scene and were cooperative with the investigation.
Detectives were able to determine that Williams was the aggressor and others involved were acting in self-defense.
Williams is listed as being in critical condition. Officials say charges are forthcoming.
