STOCKTON, Calif. (KCRA) — A man who broke into a home in Stockton Saturday morning is dead after a resident shot him, the Stockton Police Department said.
Officers arrived at the home on South Monroe Street at 8:15 a.m., police said. The resident of the home shot a man who broke into his home and made threats to his family, police said. He was transported to a hospital but did not survive.

Stockton police said the incident appears to be a justifiable self-defense homicide, and it remains under investigation.
