PHOENIX (FOX 10) - Police say a clerk shot a suspect during an armed robbery at a Phoenix 7-Eleven early Monday morning.
According to Phoenix police, the shooting happened near Seventh Avenue and Indian School at 2 a.m. when two suspects attempted to rob the convenience store.
Police say a 7-Eleven clerk fired at the suspects, striking one of them. The injured suspect was taken to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
He will be booked into jail once he is released from the hospital.
The other suspect is believed to be a juvenile and remains on the loose.
Prior to this incident, both suspects were involved in two other armed robberies on the same day. During the first armed robbery, the suspects robbed a convenience store near 12th Street and Maryland Avenue at 1:16 a.m.
Police say during this robbery, one of the suspects struck a store clerk in the head with a handgun.
The suspect then committed a second armed robber at another convenience store near Seventh Street and Bethany Home Road at 1:45 a.m. No one was injured during this armed robbery.
