Huntsville Police have released additional information about a shooting that happened at the Publix supermarket on Old Monrovia Rd. Thursday night.
According to HPD, the incident started when the two suspects, identified as Deangelo Lindsay and Precious Howard, allegedly approached the victims, a mother and son, with handguns and demanded money and personal items. Lindsay had a gun pointed at Victim #1 and Howard had a gun pointed at Victim #2. When Lindsay turned his gun, Victim #1 pulled out his concealed carry gun and shot Lindsay.
The report goes on to say that Howard ran off and Victim #1 picked up Lindsay's gun and threw it in his vehicle. Lindsay and Howard got back in their vehicle and drove away, going a short distance before they wrecked.
More officers responded to the scene and Lindsay was transported to Huntsville Hospital, where he remains under guard. The vehicle the offenders were in was stolen out of Mountain Brook AL during a car jacking. Investigators are working to determine if there are more crimes related to there subjects.
Both offenders are from the Birmingham area.
